Back in the Groove

We are back in the groove here in our city. Isaac went back to school; Autumn spent each day with the nanny; Joel and I spent countless hours studying and going to class.

Nothing too exciting happened this week, but we did have dinner at a new friend's home. They went all out with about 7 different dishes and individual cakes for everyone. It was a great time, but we felt like we tried to keep Autumn from destroying their home the entire time. :)

This week will be much of the same. We will celebrate the holiday in a way that is very different from times in the past. There are no traces of the holiday here...no decorations, no advertisements, just a calendar in our kitchen with the listed event. So it will seem very strange, but I think all of our holidays have felt at least a little that way.

This weekend a friend of ours brought the children a very exciting surprise. I bet that if you have not seen these yet, you will see them very soon. It is a spin on the regular helium balloon. Why didn't one of us think of this? Add some dangly legs and a string around the neck, and you have a dog that you can walk around the house. It is a great idea....but not so durable. It lasted in our house about 2 hours before Autumn had tore off the ears and 3 legs. :) Now it is a flying one-legged dog.
