After lunch, we took the kids outside and played hide and seek with some "resurrection" eggs! The kids absolutely loved this part. It is always fun watching them hide the eggs and then show you exactly where they hid them. They were both so excited and proud every time they found a new egg. It was a great time for our family, and it was also very enjoyable watching the faces of our neighbors as they watched our kids running around the courtyard looking for eggs.
Finally, in the evening we were able to have several of our foreign friends over to our home for an Easter dinner and worship service. It was a wonderful time. Being able to sing about the wonderfulness of the resurrection of our Lord and to read the account of that resurrection is something that will never get old.
Meanwhie, it is certainly hard to ignore the fact that very few people around us are celebrating this holiday. Holidays like this are a continual reminder of the huge need to pray for those around us who have no understanding of this hope. Join with us in using this fact as an encouragement to be more faithful in our intercession and to remember a vast portion of the world who wakes up everyday without an glimmer of the hope that we often take for granted.
