Rainy Season

This is the time of year here where it rains, and rains a lot. We haven't had any big storms yet, but the possibility of rain each day has definitely increased. Usually, it is only a short storm or shower, however occasionally it can be an all day thing. It makes drying laundry a little more difficult and provides for a little more time in doors than usual.

But, as you can certainly see from some of these pictures, Isaac and Autumn have been taking advantage of it by clowning around together. Although they certainly do have their times of fighting and not sharing, it has been good to watch them play together. I think being in an environment like they have grown up in together so far will give them a special bond that will last a lifetime.

Isaac was very excited to get his cowboy hat. He has been wanting one for a long time, but we had some difficulty locating one. Now, we've been riding broom handles (horses) around the house and singing cowboy songs. He really likes wearing dark jeans and a shirt with his cowboy hat. And, there is one Backyardigans episode in particular that he has watched quite a bit lately, Riding the Range.

This last picture we included because of Autumn's pose. She has certainly had the easiest transition into Chinese culture, something that was somewhat expected. But, here she shows the typical Chinese pose when taking a picture. And, since she has been going to school, she has been speaking all kinds of Chinese around the house. When she plays by herself, she almost always plays in Chinese. When she is laying in her bed talking trying to avoid actually going to sleep, it is almost always in Chinese. It is fun to watch, but can be kind of discouraging when you know her pronunciation is much better than your own. :)

We love you all!
