We're Leaving on a jet plane...

Tomorrow morning (EARLY) we are heading out to visit a friend who lives in another city. This week marks one month since Cara had surgery, and so it will be a nice chance to get away and enjoy the holiday. We will be gone for a few days. We will celebrate Cara's birthday and Christmas while we are gone. Then we will come back and have our family Christmas celebration after all of that traveling.

This week we were very busy, but we had a lot of fun. We had some friends over for a Christmas party and we even played Dirty Santa. I think the funniest gift was a plunger (which was my idea...if I do say so myself :) We also sang songs and read a favorite storybook that we have about Christmas.
For Cara's birthday we will be shopping--for crafts. That is her favorite. And we will be eating Hagen Daaz ice cream which is also her favorite. :) So, it should be a special day.
Tonight we had a very special visit from a friend of ours, and she added an additional 2 beings to our family. We need your help. They need names. Leave a comment on our blog and let us know some ideas for names for our two tiny little turtles. We have found in our time here that Chinese people really don't celebrate Christmas, but they love finding the reasons to give gifts. It is a huge part of their culture, and we often feel that we don't give gifts enough here. We are not in the habit of remembering to take them when we go to someone's house. However, this week we have been showered with many gifts--especially our children. I even feel that maybe they don't need the gifts under the tree because they have already opened so many. The turtles were one of these gifts. It is way too much stuff! I am definitely forseeing giving away some toys when we come back from our trip.
We miss you all very much and are looking forward to a Christmas next year with our family and friends! Merry Christmas!!!!
