2 airplanes, 7 taxis, a bus, and a boat later...

We are in Hong Kong. Today we said goodbye to some good friends who are going back to stay in the states for a while. So it was a day of playing out in the sun, resting in the shade with some cartoons, and then a Western dinner. Tomorrow is the dreaded doctor's appointment with Isaac's shots. But we trust that God is good and that He will give Isaac the peace that he needs for that moment. We still have not told him yet. He would just worry, but tomorrow morning we will have to break the news.

Other than that we are just hanging around waiting for our visas to come back. I am sure we will do some work and studying while we are here, but it will be a little more laid back than usual. We hope to get back this weekend because we are supposed to be teaching an English camp starting on Sunday.

Our trip to Malaysia was--RESTFUL. We did not do much. On the first day we arrived, we tried to go out and get some grub, but it was raining very hard! So, we waited around the condo and ate some Campbell's soup that we had brought from Macau. A little later the rain let up and we decided to go out and try to find the grocery store. As we were walking, we turned around to see a double-rainbow and right in the center of the rainbow was the building of our condo. I immediately thought of how God gives us encouragement right when we need it. It had been an emotional day for me as I was reminded of my due date that day, but when I saw that rainbow (maybe I am prideful, but...)I thought it was just for me. It served as a reminder to me of God's love for me and the promise that all things work for good for His children. I reflected over this thought for the remainder of our time there.
The next day we went and tried to find the jungle that we had promised the kids. We made the journey there and then found out that the part we wanted to go to was CLOSED! But we took the afternoon to walk around the park anyway. It was good exercise and a good way for the kids to release some built-up energy. After lunch we left the park and went to see the towers and get a small glimpse of KL--the city. We ate at California Pizza Kitchen--that was a real treat.

The 3rd day, we just took it easy and hung out around the pool. We also went in and watched some TV and colored in some coloring books. We also made a long walking-trek over to the 2 malls that were closest to the condo. We cooked some spaghetti and just spent some time together as a family. The 4th day we were kept in most of the day due to heavy raining, but we did venture out to the cold pool after the rain. And we bought a basketball so that Joel and Isaac could shoot some hoops. Then our final day we checked out at 9am. We needed to be at the airport by 10 to catch our noon flight. However, after arriving at the airport we discovered our flight had been cancelled and we had been put on a 4:50 flight. So we arrived in Macau at 8:50PM and still had to catch a boat to Hong Kong and then get to our place there. It was a LONG night! So thus the reason that did not do much today but rest and play with friends.
