We had a good relaxing weekend. On Friday morning we left (just the 4 of us) and went to another city. It was raining, and it first we were a little bummed because the kids couldn’t go to the park to play. But in on actuality, it was really good because we were able to sit in our nice hotel and just rest. Joel was able to watch some baseball and basketball, and I watched the royal wedding. J The kids played and pretended to be king and queen. We even got to eat some real hamburgers—not like the ones at McDonald’s. On Saturday we talked to Nana and Pop on skype and ate some breakfast from the bakery. We came back home Saturday afternoon and had a birthday dinner with our best buddies Bev and Morris and their 2 kids.

On Sunday we left very early to go to another city with some brothers and sisters. Honestly, the drive was not so scenic and all of us in our car were concerned about where we were actually going. We also discovered that we wouldn’t be staying in a hotel, but in someone’s house. To our surprise, the house was very nice and was set up like a hotel. It was very clean. So, that was a huge blessing! The city that we went to was small and probably more like a village. All in all the trip wasn’t so bad. J It was definitely culturally challenging on that Sunday and Monday morning, but Monday after breakfast we went to the BEACH! And believe it or not, it was clean. We had told the kids that they probably wouldn’t be able to play in the water (because we thought it would be like the beach we saw the day before---which was really bad), but we drove quite a distance a way to this other beach. It was really nice—the kids had a great time.

However, we forgot to put sunscreen all over the kids. They did have some on their face and arms, but we forgot to put it on their legs and we forgot to reapply later. Autumn is at home today-sitting beside me and helping me write this. She has blisters on her nose and on her shoulders. It is pretty painful, and we let her stay home today. She is happy that she gets to be with mommy and doesn’t have to go to school. She wants me to play Barbies with her, but I told her that I have to write this first and I have to prepare for my class tonight because I won’t have any other time to do it before then. But I am sure we will still have time to play.

Autumn said that the thing she enjoyed most about the trip was the rain. “You know why? Because I like to put the rain in my mouth.” Autumn says that she misses everyone in America. She misses “Grandma and her puppies, Granny and her 2 dogs, Pappaw, Aunt Paula, Nana and Pop, Uncle Chris and AUNT KELLY, Christopher, Ty, Aunt Nelle and Uncle Arm, Uncle Andrew, Aunt Lesley, and Drew and Riley. (This is her list—she is a little scatter-brained so she may have forgotten some people.)
