Happy Lantern Day! As we have recently learned, "Lantern Day" is the final day of the 2 week long Spring Festival Holiday. Chinese New Year begins the festivities, and it is capped off on the 15th day of January (Chinese calendar) by celebrating lantern day. Below is a sweet rice ball which nearly all Chinese traditionally eat on this holiday.

In addition, they celebrate by hanging beautiful lanterns with lights inside each individual one. It is a beautiful scene and a wonderful way to finish the most important Chinese holiday.

And, as is true with most big holidays, fireworks are abundant. We were able to go on the roof of our building to watch the fireworks show with our neighbors (see video at bottom). It was a very impressive display and it lasted for a good 30 minutes. Isaac and Autumn had a great time as the fireworks were far away and were not so loud.

Finally, below are some pictures of our children with our friends baby. We had the chance to watch her for a couple days, and Cara is always good about taking advantage of photo opportunities. :)
